Formula & worked example

SCORAD = A/5 + 7B/2 + C. A = extent 0-100, B = sum of six intensity signs 0-3 each (max 18), C = pruritus 0-10 + sleep loss 0-10 (max 20). Maximum 103.

Extent 20, six intensity items at 1 each (B = 6), itch 6 plus sleep loss 4 (C = 10) give 20/5 + 7 x 6/2 + 10 = 35, moderate.

Limitations — read this before you rely on it

Extent and intensity scoring involve judgement and vary between assessors; scores track change better than they define a single visit. This tool is for education only and is not medical advice. Talk to a clinician about any result that worries you, and never change treatment because of a calculator result.
