How to use this tool

1
Choose doses per day

3 times a day is the default and means every 8 hours.

2
Set the first dose time

Use the hour and minute you plan to take the first dose.

3
Read the full schedule

All dose times for the 24-hour cycle are shown, wrapping past midnight.

4
Follow drug instructions

Food timing and missed-dose rules in the leaflet override even spacing.

Formula & worked example

Interval (hours) = 24 / doses per day. Each later dose = first dose time + interval x dose number, wrapped past midnight.

Medicine 3 times a day starting at 08:00 is taken at 08:00, 16:00 and 00:00, every 8 hours.

Limitations — read this before you rely on it

Scheduling arithmetic only. It does not set a dose, and food, sleep and missed-dose instructions in the prescription govern. This tool is for education only and is not medical advice. Talk to a clinician about any result that worries you, and never change treatment because of a calculator result.

Frequently asked questions

Three evenly spaced doses, every 8 hours, not just three doses while awake.

The tool wraps times past midnight, so a dose may fall at 00:00.

That depends on the medicine; the leaflet instruction overrides even spacing.

Missed-dose rules differ by drug, so follow the leaflet or ask a pharmacist; never double up unless told to.

Only with a prescribed dose and schedule; this tool only spaces the times.
