How to use this tool
Choose the race distance (Sprint, Olympic, 70.3 or Ironman).
Enter your swim, bike and run times in minutes, decimals for seconds.
Enter both transition times in minutes.
Read the total finish time and each leg’s pace or speed.
Formula & worked example
Olympic distance: swim 30 + bike 75 + run 50 + transitions 2 + 2 = 159 minutes, a 2:39:00 finish.

Paces assume the standard distances shown; actual courses vary slightly. Open-water swimming, hills, wind and drafting rules all move real times away from pool and turbo benchmarks. Frequently asked questions
Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run. Olympic: 1.5 km, 40 km, 10 km. 70.3: 1.9 km, 90 km, 21.1 km. Ironman: 3.8 km, 180 km, 42.2 km.
Use decimals: 30 minutes 30 seconds is 30.5. The total is shown as hours:minutes:seconds.
T1 (swim-to-bike) and T2 (bike-to-run) are part of the official time, and sloppy transitions can cost minutes, especially in sprint races.
Swim pace is universally quoted per 100 m (or per 100 yards), while run pace is per kilometre, so each leg uses its own convention.
Yes: subtract your transitions and your strongest legs from the target, and the remainder is what the remaining leg must be. Work through it leg by leg.
