Modern .xlsx workbooks only — old .xls files use a different format and are refused with a clear message.
Conversion status
Honest limits: only the first worksheet is converted; cell values are used (for formulas, the last value Excel saved); formatting, colours, charts, images, merged-cell layout and extra sheets are not reproduced. Very long cell text is shortened to fit its column.
How to use this tool
Pick one or more modern Excel workbooks — up to 20 at a time.
Automatic uses landscape for wide sheets and portrait otherwise; or force either.
Conversion runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Each spreadsheet becomes its own PDF, downloadable one by one or all at once.
Formula & worked example
A sheet with Name and Age columns (Alice, 30; Bob, 25) becomes a one-page PDF table titled with the file name, with the header row and both data rows visible as real PDF text.
Limitations — read this before you rely on it
Only the first worksheet is converted and only values are carried over: cell formatting, colours, fonts, charts, images, merged-cell layout and additional sheets are not reproduced. Formula cells use the last value Excel saved, not a fresh recalculation. Very long cell text is shortened to fit its column, and password-protected workbooks cannot be opened.
Frequently asked questions
Yes — this tool unzips and reads the workbook entirely in your browser and writes the PDF there too.
Only the first worksheet. If your data is on a later sheet, move it first in Excel (or save a copy with that sheet first).
No — the saved value from the last Excel save is used. Open and re-save the file in Excel first if values may be stale.
This converter carries values, not formatting: colours, fonts, charts and images are not reproduced, by design, so the PDF is a clean readable table.
No — .xls is a different, binary format. Save the file as .xlsx in Excel first, then convert.
