Split a PDF into parts by page ranges, every N pages, or one file per page — in your browser.
Split a PDF into separate, real PDF files entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Each part is a complete PDF containing only its pages, ready to download on its own.
One PDF at a time. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs cannot be opened in the browser and are refused with a clear message.
Separate ranges with commas. “1-3” means pages 1 to 3, “5” means just page 5, and “7-” means page 7 to the end. Each page can only appear in one part.
Split parts
Your original PDF is never changed — the parts are new files. Splitting keeps each page's content exactly as it was; it does not re-compress or shrink the pages.
How to use this tool
Click the file box and choose one PDF to split.
Page ranges (“1-3, 5, 7-”), every N pages, or one file per page.
Press “Split PDF”. Splitting happens in your browser — nothing is uploaded — and each part is a real, complete PDF.
Download each part, or press “Download all parts” to download them one after another.
Formula & worked example
Worked example: a 10-page PDF split with ranges “1-3, 4-7, 8-” produces three real PDFs — pages 1–3, pages 4–7, and pages 8–10. Splitting every 3 pages gives parts of 3, 3, 3 and 1 pages, and “every page separately” gives 10 one-page PDFs.
Limitations — read this before you rely on it
Only one PDF is split at a time, and each part downloads separately (no ZIP archive is produced). Encrypted or password-protected PDFs cannot be opened in the browser and are refused rather than altered. Splitting copies pages unchanged: it does not re-compress, shrink or repair them, and a damaged or incomplete PDF may be refused with a clear message. Very large PDFs are limited by your device's memory and browser.
Frequently asked questions
Choose a PDF, pick “Page ranges”, “Every N pages” or “Every page separately”, then press “Split PDF”. Each part downloads as its own complete PDF file, or use “Download all parts”. Nothing is uploaded.
Type ranges separated by commas: “1-3” means pages 1 to 3, “5” means just page 5, and “7-” means page 7 to the end. Each page can only appear in one part, so overlapping ranges are refused with a clear message.
Yes — a 10-page PDF split every 3 pages gives parts of 3, 3, 3 and 1 pages. The last part simply holds whatever pages remain.
No. Your PDF is split entirely in your browser and never sent to ToolHoney or any server. Your original file is never changed.
Encrypted or password-protected PDFs cannot be opened in the browser, so they are refused with a clear message. Remove the password from a copy of the file first, then split that copy.
