How to use this tool

1
Pick the country

The expected country code and national length follow your choice.

2
Enter the number with +

International format, e.g. +14155552671 — spaces, dashes and brackets are ignored.

3
Read the verdict

Valid numbers show their canonical E.164 form; invalid ones say which rule failed.

4
Copy the E.164 form

Use it for dialling, SMS APIs and contact records.

Formula & worked example

E.164 validation: the input must start with +, contain 7–15 digits in total, begin with the selected country's calling code, and leave a national number of the expected length for that country (a leading trunk 0 after the country code is stripped). These are format and length rules, not a live lookup.

+14155552671 validates as a United States number with E.164 form +14155552671; +447911123456 validates as a United Kingdom number.

Limitations — read this before you rely on it

Format and length validation only, for 12 common countries. It cannot tell whether a number is assigned, active or reachable, and some countries have number plans this simplified length table does not capture — treat unusual national numbers as uncertain, not invalid, unless the country code itself is wrong.

Frequently asked questions

The international phone format: a + followed by the country code and national number, with no spaces, dashes or trunk 0 — for example +14155552671.

No. It checks format, country code and length only; it cannot tell whether a number is assigned or reachable.

Numbers dialled nationally often start with 0 (for example UK 07911…), but that 0 is dropped in international format (+447911…).

Twelve common ones: US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, India, Pakistan, Australia, Brazil and Japan.

No — it validates only and generates nothing.
