How to use this tool
Put the first version in the top box.
Put the second version in the lower box.
Green lines were added, red lines were removed, plain lines are unchanged.
Ignore case or surrounding spaces when only wording matters, not formatting.
Formula & worked example
Original 'Line two' replaced by 'Line TWO changed' shows as one removed line and one added line, with the other lines unchanged.
Limitations — read this before you rely on it
Comparison is line-based, not word-based — a single changed word marks the whole line as changed. Very large texts (tens of thousands of lines) may be slow because the algorithm compares every line pair.
Frequently asked questions
No — it compares whole lines, which is the clearest view for documents, code and lists.
No. The diff runs entirely in your browser.
It treats 'Hello' and 'hello' as the same line, so only real content changes are flagged.
Yes — the copy button gives you a plain-text diff with + and – markers.
Line diffs track position, so a moved line appears once as removed from its old spot and once as added in its new spot.
