Formula & worked example

Words are split on separators and on camelCase boundaries (including acronym boundaries like HTTPResponse → HTTP, Response), lowercased, then rejoined per case: camel (first lower, rest capitalised), Pascal (all capitalised), snake (_), kebab (-), dot (.), constant (upper + _).

"hello world example" becomes helloWorldExample, HelloWorldExample, hello_world_example, hello-world-example, Hello World Example, HELLO WORLD EXAMPLE, hello world example, Hello world example, hello.world.example and HELLO_WORLD_EXAMPLE.

Limitations — read this before you rely on it

Acronyms are handled by a simple boundary rule (a run of capitals followed by a capital+lowercase splits before the last capital), which is right for common cases like HTTPResponse but can mis-split unusual acronyms. Numbers stay attached to their word.
